On Feb 4, 2004 the Northeast Minneapolis Arts
Association will launch a monthly art crawl within the
established "Northeast Arts District." As part of a
fifteen-year Arts Action Plan, the city endorsed
District is designed to build and maintain the area as
a long-term arts community.

The District covers four neighborhoods in Northeast
(Sheridan, Bottineau, Holland and Logan Park) It is
home to a great deal of artist studio space, probably
the highest concentration in the Midwest.

"First Thursdays" will expose the public to new art
and new ideas and foster personal relationships
between artists and art buyers. "First Thursdays"
will be in many of the same buildings as the annual
Art-A-Whirl event.
