Or you can read the Strib version and get the leanings of not one, but
three fencesitters:

"As the roll is called today, three votes will be telling: Council
Members Scott Benson, Barbara Johnson and Gary Schiff. The three
initially were committed to voting against McManus, then they moved to
the middle. On Thursday, at least two moved toward yes.

Both Johnson and Benson said they are "likely yes" votes for McManus.
That would give him eight votes and confirm his nomination."

Moreover, as the writer of one of the two stories mentioning Urban
Ventures, I'd like to add an outtake from my story of earlier this week
about sneding leaflets home with students.
According to UV, after the mother complained about the religious
content of the chalk talk during soccer practice, UV and the parent
struck a compromise that shifted this to the end of practice so kids
could feel free to leave if they didn't want to sit through such
homilies.
