Margaret:
I received your e-mail request from Friday night regarding bridge rods when I arrived
at the office this morning. This is the first request that I have found from you to
me regarding this subject.

The City of Minneapolis does not install rods under bridges. The State of Minnesota
Department of Transportation has installed some rods under bridges in the past. The
City has a contract with MNDot to maintain bridges, and part of this agreement, the
City made repairs to the MNDoT bridge rods under two bridges over Interstate 94.
Again, it is not the policy or practice of the City of Minneapolis to install rods
under bridges. I hope this clarifies the situation.

Subject: Erik Takeshita- the Mayor-Bridge Rods

I have sent an e-mail to Erik Takeshita requesting that he or the mayor do a filmed
interview with me about the bridge rods (transient barriers).

However, if Erik or the Mayor do not want to do this with me, I would hope they
would be willing to talk to the Skyway News, Southwest Journal or City Pages about
their feelings, thoughts, about the bridge rods.
As I have tried a few times to get a response from the Mayor's office about this
subject with no response --zip, nada, nothing----
I have hope this may have changed given Erik's recent post to the list.
So, I hope that either Erik or the Mayor responds to this post.
** Thankyou to the Skyway News and Southwest Journal for an excellent bit of
reporting on the shelter beds***
