The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is still hoping a marina will fall into their laps. Though they insinuate that it won't be on their bonding wish list it appears to be an idea that won't die. I personally feel that the MPRB has no need to build something that will be used by so few of the taxpayers of this city . The fact that they plan to build it on a beautiful stretch of riverfront across from a historical landmark is indefensible. This is not Miami and unless they are planning on using the rest of their new building as a boat garage for the fleet during the winter it will be an eyesore. If private investors would like to build a marina in a more secluded area and can get approval from AFCAC ( Above the Falls Citizen Advisory Committee) great. No public funding for this white elephant.
