I guess I would be one of the sport haters, but not completely. I own stock in the
Packers. Its a mostly useless piece of paper that I haven't found since I moved. I
have a stake, and so does that community. Football, Baseball, Basketball, etc. all
know they cannot push large groups of people around so they don't allow for that form
of ownership anymore. Maybe the public should tell them no public ownership, no
stadiums.
Didn't Gov. Jesse have a public idea for us to send in our tax rebates and build a new
stadium? Not many did and that idea died. I guess there are not enough people like
Jon to build a stadium.
If I could be given iron clad assurance that Carl and/or Red would stop wining about
"enough" money if they were built a stadium I might be a bit more inclined, but I am
not going to hold my breath. The wealthy likes of Carl and Red will never be happy
with what they have, they will always want more.
When homelessness and unemployment are no longer a problem in Mpls, Hennepin Co, and
MN I will gladly ask my elected officials to consider a stadium for Carl and Red. One
for each, with retractable roof, etc. etc. etc. Then we can build one for the
Badgers, and the Timberwolves too.
But since homelessness and unemployment are not going away any time soon, don't hold
your breath for me to support the taxpayers funding an overpriced playpen for
millionaires owned by a billionaire.

I'll take the "ouch", I love baseball. Give me an outdoor Twins joint
