Introduced by Rep. Bill Haas, Rep. Kent Eken, Rep. Keith Ellison, Rep.
Phyllis Kahn, Rep. Jim Rhodes, Rep. Tony Cornish, Rep. Doug Lindgren
and Rep. Steve Sviggum on February 16, 2004, to authorize the director
of the state lottery to contract for the placement of gaming machines
at a state owned casino which would be run in the metropolitan area.
The bill imposes a tax on gaming machine revenue and provides for the
use of gaming machine revenue. The bill allows for blackjack and other
card games at the casino as well. 90 percent of the revenue would go
to the general fund the remaining ten percent would be divided up
among health, human services, education, and economic development
state programs targeted towards American Indians and minorities.

Vicky says: Put the casino on the Sear's site and Minneapolis will be
rolling in money.

Just think of it.....Minneapolis, The Fun City. Boozing, gambling,
corporate welfare....LasVegas of the North! I might have to become a
Democrat again.
