I was present at the meetings when staff from Tom Frame's Minneapolis Environmental Management convinced the pool manager to get a Prius. Their primary emphasis was on the reduced emissions. Secondary concerns included better mileage and trying/supporting new approaches to transit. I liked the idea so much that I bought a Honda Civic Hybrid. At 23,000 miles, my average mpg is 42, when the engine turns off my car is silent. It's no wonder that R.T. forgot it was 'running'. Honda monitors the brakes to prevent similar accidents.
