Sorry to post this after a few days, but wanted to respond to Barb Lickness' question on Feb. 24:

I also heard that the school system was going to
discontinue providing hand washing soap in the
bathrooms to save money. Is this true? If so, that is
ridiculous. That is probably the number 1 public
health remedy we teach kids is to wash their hands.
Somebody in the know please respond.


I forward this to the district's manager of plant operations, Dawn Miller, (who supervises all the building engineers) and she reassures me that this rumor is absolutely not true. She said: "It is the Departments policy to provide safe, clean learning environment's for the students, staff and community. I would consider hand soap to be a vital component to the success of this policy."
