I am weary of this city. I grew up here then I moved out of this state when I was thirteen. Came back as a young adult of 24 years and to my shock and surprise, this isn't the city I have known and loved. Fastforward to present year at the age of 47, I still haven't found an answer to this question, why does riding a bus should be ashame? Why do I have to squirm uncomfortably when people said " Oh Ellie... you don't have a car? ". I was at Washington DC and New York City and not once did people ask why I dont have a car. But here in twin Cities they do. I want to see transit to be at least popular for all walk of life and not just for " welfare people". If I were to have a well off income, I'd think I would rather be greedy with my saving by thinking how much money I would save rather than saying " Oh I drove this SUV with 100,00 miles but golly you havre any idea how much does it cost to upkeep this SUV? ". Why does riding a bus have to be s dirty shame? But here people are greedy with car that cost them an arm and leg. I fail to understand that. Ellie Kidder Central Neighborhood [EMAIL PROTECTED]
