It seems that Minneapolis provided a good example to follow with how health care coverage for city employees is being paid for. For those who missed that story, here's a link to it: http://www.skywaynews.net/articles/2004/03/08/news/news03.txt I'm willing to bet Mayor Rybak would be happy to allow members of his staff to advise Met Council on how they might develop a similar package. But that would require Met Council to actually want to reach a settlement. Their actions to date suggest otherwise. As for the offer to check out transit strike stories in other newspapers, I did that, typing "transit" in the search functions. I also tried "strike" but found that gave me too many mis-hits on war-related or Twins-related stories. Found four in the past week in the Duluth NewsTribune http://www.duluthsuperior.com/mld/duluthsuperior/ Found five in the past month in the Rochester Post-Bulletin http://www.postbulletin.com/ I realize that's only a couple, but I don't know enough about other newspapers to identify which ones are published daily.
