Jeff, I am in the same place you are. I support the concept but I need more balanced information before I make a decision. Currently, my neighborhood is being treated to presentations made by our council member using promotional materials from the corporation that manufactures the PRT cars and tracks. Many people in my neighborhood are wondering if Mr. Zimmermann is moonlighting as a salesman including me. When I asked specifically on this list for a source of information I could read that did not come from Taxi 2000 corporation Mr. Zimmermann sent me the link to Taxi 2000 corporation and told me I would find the information I needed there.
I think it is unethical for a council member to act as a salesperson for a corporation attempting to get investments of tax dollars from the city. In fact I think it most likely violates the newly adopted ethics policy of the city. So, I have no doubt that there are satirical cartoons out there with jaded humor about this. Many of us feel that our intelligence is being insulted on this issue. Barb Lickness Whittier ===== "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." -- Margaret Mead REMINDERS: 1. Think a member has violated the rules? Email the list manager at [EMAIL PROTECTED] before continuing it on the list. 2.
