This can only be considered a terrible beginning to the new chiefs reign. What the hell? I and many other folks here were enthusiastic to say the least over this guys appointment.
Where and when were we mislead?
I'm very very disappointed.
Mr. Mayor, your supporters as well as your nay-sayers on this list deserve an explanation of this extremely public faux-pas coming at the very start of the chief's administration.
The guy's been in office what, six weeks? good lord.

Uh, where do you get this information? It'd be nice to let the rest of us in on it.
Meanwhile, the Star Tribune had this interesting sentence in its report: "Martin, who reported directly to Gerold, told McManus that he'd had problems with her and that she had made his life a nightmare for a year." (at http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/4674042.html)
Sounds to me like Gerold is playing up the victim role, crying crocodile tears, and is actually part of the problem in our police department. She's a smooth operator, it seems to me.
