>From Steve Brandt's article on Wednesday:
"The district earlier this month sent out requests
to 22 parties to make proposals. But interim
Superintendent David Jennings said Tuesday that he
has gotten only one fully responsive proposal and
that the skills offered didn't match what the
district needs.
Jennings said that he's planning to beat the bushes
for proposals from people who know Minneapolis
communities well, but that he doubts he'll have a
recommendation for next week.
He said he's concerned after last month's two huge
and lively public hearings on the reorganization
plan that some qualified consultants may be afraid
to put themselves between the board and the
community."

Well, that's one possible explanation for the lack of response to the
RFPs. What do the recipients of the RFPs say about why they didn't
respond? I would also be interested in an independent assessment of the
RFP and the list of recipients.
Whatever the reason, it sounds like the job is not getting done, and may
not get done. Now what?
