Big name lobbyists - Chris Georgacas gets a good salary. Different Lobbyists tell different legislators different things.
Representatives like Dan Severson (who signed onto Lindner's anti-gay bill last session) support the Colin Powell Youth Center because it promotes fundementalist christianity. Severson likes stuff like Teen Challenge (which I believe is one of those abstinence only - condoms don't work sex ed programs). Meanwhile other legislators who authored the bill - including Keith Ellison were unaware that Urban Ventures is a fundementalist organization. Keith is going to investigate this further (thanks Keith). Rep. Karen Clark, Rep. Neva Walker and Sen. Linda Berglin are fully aware of who Urban Ventures is. Former Rep. Wejcman - who was Rep before Neva Walker would never have supported the Colin Powell Youth Center.
Currently on March 10 the Jobs and Economic Development Finance Committee lists this as held over for possible inclusion into the bonding bill - which means the huge garbage bill.
