Two Important upcoming green rooftop events:

1. One-Day Green Rooftops Conference on April 23
2. Green rooftop installation events at The Green Institute

*****

1. The Green Institute will co-host a day-long conference on green
rooftops that will be held Friday, April 23 at the University of
Minnesota's Ralph Rapson Hall. This event will be an opportunity to
learn from local and national experts about the design and
implementation of green roofs. Afternoon break-out sessions will allow
participants to identify local research needs and obstacles to
implementation. Input from participants at the workshop will be used to
guide the development of the local municipality's research program to
futher explore green roof technical performance and supportive policy
options.

The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. followed by a
networking reception for all participants. Registration includes lunch,
all materials, and the reception. Information and registration are
available at www.greenroofs.org.

2. We are also recruiting volunteers for the installation of a rooftop
garden on the Phillips Eco-Enterprise Center in Minneapolis. This green
rooftop will be an important model for using rooftop green space to
increase building efficiency and to manage stormwater. The green
rooftop will be visible to thousands of passengers daily on the Hiawatha
LRT Line. Volunteer installation events are scheduled for April 24, May
8, May 15, and June 12. To register for one or more of the volunteer
events, contact Erin Rupp at [EMAIL PROTECTED] For questions about
the installation, call Corrie Zoll at 612-278-7119.
