Jon sez: When my kids were going to Barton back in the 80's we
had an annual spring plant sale- you know, just like Girl Scout cookies, kid
distributes order forms to relatives etc. and they come and pick up their plants
on a designated weekend. We raised a good deal of money (if there are any
current Barton parents on the list and the school is still doing this maybe you
could send some figures, my memory is too faded).
Think of the money that could be raised for both Parks and
Schools if the PRB reopened their nursery and coordinated sales through all the
Mpls. schools.Probably be enough to pay all the kids they could employ.
