Minneapolis Park Legacy Society, would like your help and skills, to make a very historic event wonderful and special. Minneapolis will have a rare glimpse of history through the eyes of Mr. Theodore Wirth, the primary Landscape Architect and the longest serving Superintendent, 1906 - 1935, of the world famous Minneapolis Park System. Please review the individual events June 19, and 20 and sign up for one of the volunteer opportunities. Work a little and enjoy Minneapolis history unfold throughout the weekend, and you can be part of it too. A call for volunteers at the following locations while 61 descendants of the Theodore Wirth family arrive in Minnesota and participate in the dedication of the Theodore Wirth Statue and Garden. What a historic weekend for the family and for all visitors, and citizen to enjoy together. Minneapolis will have guests from as far away Switzerland, and New Zealand, for this event. Saturday, June 19th - Public Events Volunteer Opportunities between the hours of Noon - 7:30 p.m. 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. What - Dedication of the Theodore Wirth Statue Garden and Program Volunteer Opportunities - General logistics, greeters. setup, sound system, cake cutters, photographers, misc. and tear-down. 12:45 p.m. What - Antique motorcade on the parkways through Wirth Park, along the Chain of Lakes, to the Wirth Home 3954 Bryant Avenue South. Volunteer Opportunities - General assistance for dignitaries, Wirth family, photographers.
