Here is information on a very good way to spend time on Monday May 3rd.

WHAT:  Minnesota's American Indian Month Kick-off
 
HOW:  1st Annual Community Walk and Feast Celebrating Indian Month 

WHEN:  Monday, May 3rd - 10:30AM (until 1:30PM)

WHO:  The American Indian Community and its Friends

WHERE:  Community Walk:  (10:30AM-12PM) Walkers meet at Minneapolis
American Indian Center, 1530 E. Franklin Avenue for transport to Lake
Street and Bloomington Avenue.  Group proceeds north on Bloomington
Avenue to Minneapolis American Indian Center located at the intersection
of Franklin and Bloomington Avenues.

CEREMONY:  Proclamation/Feast:  (12PM-1:30PM) Proclamations will be read
that reflect the good will of both the City of Minneapolis and Hennepin
County.  A feast will follow in the Indian Center's amphitheater (gym if
rain.)

WHY:  To celebrate the Native Community's circle of friends, laughter,
conversation, commitment to wellness, safe streets, and improving
partnerships with the City of Minneapolis and Hennepin County.
