The list of 800 'empty' MPS classrooms is available online at 
www.mpls.k12.mn.us/Community_Engagement_Process/ in the "An Overview of the MPS" in 
the Facilities section starting at page 59.

    The school funding explanation is good.  I still think the idea to close buildings 
overlooks way too many larger community concerns and stops short of other possible 
uses of buildings and parts of buildings that may not be fully utilized.  The 
discussion about how the money flows into the district and then to the schools should 
open a few eyes and renew discussions about equity.  This document and the others on 
the planning process are not a bad start to revitalizing the city's schools.
