>From where I sit in SW Minneapolis, I see trouble on the horizon. I'd like to thank our elected state leaders for a worthless session-- probably the MOST worthless session I've ever seen. A complete waste of time and taxpayer dollars, with no resolution of the budget shortfall or the bonding bill-- and this in an even-year session that is supposed to be focused on bonding.
It's time for a unicameral legislature in Minnesota with strong third-party representation to break up the regular two-party bickering we've experienced in recent years. Add Instant Runoff Voting and let voters directly decide in a timely fashion, who will lead rather than the old two-party caucuses and continual attempts via two-party restrictions aimed at controlling primaries, etc., and just maybe we'll see some positive, efficient leadership at the state capital. And two-party regulars wonder why the voting public has become so disillusioned with politics as usual! Enough of this crap! Michael Hohmann independent from Linden Hills ...where support for public schools seems, sadly, to be waning and disillusionment with politics as usual seems rampant. REMINDERS: 1.
