Actually, Shawn, colds are caused by a virus, not exposure to cold weather. So you haven't "caught a cold or two" by smoking outside.
However, exposure to tobacco smoke has been shown to limit the effectiveness of the immune system, thus making you more susceptible to colds and many other diseases. So you'd probably suffer fewer colds if you were not exposed to tobacco smoke in or outside Minneapolis bars.
