As we have lost our street to the LRT; we at least made the news(channel 5 eyewitness news) with our petition to have permit parking. The bad news is its going to cost us. Many of the people that live on this block have more than one vehicle-which will cost even more. Every resident thinks the Hiawatha Light Rail should pay for our parking permits-since it was their project that came upon us. The LRT people think we have "narrow thinking". I am also sadly quite disappointed in SENA-the non existent neighborhood association; you'd think they might take lessons from Longfellow or PPNA. The sad part is its getting ugly. There's been nasty words exchanged from people who are coming home from work and cannot park anywhere near their houses. I admit it's a fantastic idea that we have Light Rail-and I am so pleased to see so many people ride their bikes to the 38th street station. But the invasiveness of the project has really put a dimmer on the neighbors. G. Palandri Standish
