Other than corporate landlords, I don't know anyone who charges application
fees.  I have 38 properties and I do not charge the fee, especially with the
vacancy rate the highest in my 35 years in business.

Keith, I have some sympathy for you here, but why haven't landlords pooled
information proactively (or have they)? You don't need government to make
information portable between yourselves.

Government often gets involved if there's been a market failure. Have local
rental-property owners dropped the ball?

>From what I read, the breakfast is open to all - including rental-property
owners. Most "juntas" don't do business in the open...let's not
overdramatize things, especially when the spur of the accusation is a post
announcing a public discussion of the very issue.

In fairness, I'd also like some testimony from advocates of an ordinance
about the harm. How high are they application fees? What are the examples of
abuse?
