This is a contract that is entirely consistent with
the market when it comes to pay for superintendents of
large urban school districts. It is not out of line.
Several superintendent contracts in suburbia are worth
more than what she is being paid. The tempest in a
teapot over hiring her before negotiating her contract
is silly: are people really saying we should have
hired the cheapest person, rather than the best we
could find?
You name me ONE superintendent in the metro who get's
60k a year and I will buy you a dozen cookies. What's
with the "out of town" thing? Dave Jennings wouldn't
have worked for 60k! I can't imagine the outrage if we
HADN'T done a national search!
