First: lets be real about the term "commuters". If you happenstance to
work downtown, and took the bus, or carpooled previously, or even paid
too much to park somewhere downtown( I know when I used to work at
Daytons when it was an actual store-I paid good money to walk 6 blocks
and park)I would say then you are a commuter. People who are simply
using the train to go drinking downtown or to a sports event..are they
commuters or opportunists?? Considering the ridiculously limited range
of the Hiawatha Light rail; how much commuting do we really think is
going on? Do I personally think saving people the money for the sports
events is a civil duty? HA! (let me laugh like Chris Matthews). For the
true commuters, there should be parking lots; theres several empty lots
and areas between 38th street and Lake Street; I ask whats wrong with
that land? Beyond the grain mills on Hiawatha headed north on the east
side-its all empty? How obvious? A pool cue stuck in the eye of Metro
Transit might help.
What resentment?
