I have received word that Minneapolis Park Board commissioners Annie Young, Rochelle Berry Graves and Vivian Mason have formally requested that the board hold its meeting on August 11. It is my understanding that if three members of the board make such a request, then the meeting must be held.

Among the serious issues which needed discussion were:
1. Athletic complex development plans for Bryn Mawr Meadows.
2. Move of Park Police to the headquarters building.
3. Use of this historic Longfellow and Wirth houses.
4. Organizational restructuring.

I would like to thank these commissioners for taking up the work that needs to be done and doing what they can to make this meeting happen.
