In this city that so many have fled it's easy to become an old timer and if you write much a sage. Yet know one listens to us voices of wisdom, because our wisdom gets in the way of their next dream development when we sages remind them of the failure of a similar scheme a decade or two ago. One wonders if our city council together could point out the locations of Sweigart's Meat Market or all car dealerships on Lake Street or West Broadway in 1970. I suspect a few don't even remeber the days of a mere decade ago when we became "Murderapolis"... and so it is that the newbies running our city will allow us to be overrun with crime and starved for jobs again.
On to the weekend Northside murder and mayhem report... MPD has pulled the "Command Post" and detail out of Jordan so it's business as usual- thurdays I had to traverse 26th and the drug market was again wide open at 26th and Knox per usual. Late saturday night clear up Queen at 39th another murder was done. That's damn near to the "Drive", always considered the Northside's last safe neighborhoods. Clearly the cancer of crime is metacizing...
Here on Crack Street I had to call 911 on the occupants of the Buick on saturday morning. Given the slow response times and understaffing I only call 911 for felonies and medical emergencies, fires, etc... But the lady in the Bucik ("Pony Tail") was burning up crack at a rate that was becoming a medical emergency, and was probably still a felony quantity when I called 911. Unfortunately by the time MPD arrived but one of the five criminals was still aboard the Buick, but MPD took that one downtown and towed said Buick. The remaining criminals are still up and down the street, now seeking shelter in a Mercury minivan and a genuine period pimpmobile. Yes, this genuine white Caddy Seville 4 door with all the chrome and perfectly tasteless red fake convertable top will hopefully soon be on the auction block at our municipal impound lot. The driver, I'll call as masculine female, as anyone who deals drugs and pimps does not deserve more honorable terms like "Bull Dagger" and "Butch". In respect for her gender identification I suggest she be despatched to the apppropriate correctional facility for men...
