Will someone confirm or correct the following numbers that I have extracted from various posts:
Current enrollment: 39,000 students Current budget: $600 million Current MPS employees: 6,000 If these numbers are close to accurate, MPS will spend approximately $15,385 per student this year and have one employee for every six and one-half children. I hope Mr. Brandt or Mr. Mann or any other candidates for the school board will firm these numbers up and explain how MPS can possibly find itself in a "budget crisis." It would also be nice to know if the $600 million budget includes debt service and pension disbursements. Vicky Heller North Oaks and Cedar-Riverside REMINDERS: 1.
