I voted at 11:20 AM. Based on the turn out in ward 8, precincts 6 and 7, as of 11:20 AM (54 and 51), I predict about 30,000 will vote citywide (about the same as 2002), and that a higher percentage of voters will vote for one or more school board candidates. Given the anti-incumbent sentiment, I wouldn't bet the farm on even one incumbent surviving the primaries.
A recent Strib article stated that I have a web-based campaign. My web site has consistently gotten over 7,000 page visits per month since late June (averaging about 240 to 260 daily). I have also distributed about 6,500 brochures & 500 business cards. I had a booth at the Juneteenth celebration. And I have yard signs. At least 4 yard signs have been stolen from one high-traffic location, plus a few others. I am having much less trouble with lawn sign thieves than I did during the pre-general election period in 2002. I don't know of anyone who predicted that I would get a spot on the general election ballot in 2002. -Doug Mann, King Field Mann for School Board www.educationright.com - REMINDERS: 1.
