citizens yet here in the U.S. we pay twice as much as any other country? On

work focused on COACT's campaign for universal health insurance. Since 2000,
Kip has continued to work for universal health insurance as a member of the

coalition currently consisting of 13 organizations. He has written

Making Every Vote Count -
Electoral Reform for Today’s Democracy
Tuesday, October 5th ~ 7:PM

Tonight, October 5th, Cam Gordon will present a talk about much needed
electoral reform including the need for public financing and opening up our
democratic process through Instant Run off Voting and Proportional
Representation.

Cam has worked for campaign and election reform for over 15 years. In the
early 1990s he helped form the Citizen's Reform Network and worked to
develop and pass Minnesota's historic campaign finance reform legislation.
As a board member of Common Cause Minnesota he worked to educate members on
alternative voting methods and maintain strong campaign finance and
disclosure laws. He also helped form FairVote Minnesota, a nonprofit
organization dedicated to educating people about election reforms. In 1998
Cam founded the Minneapolis Election Reform Coalition, dedicated to
supporting election reform in Minneapolis, and in 1999 he led an
unsuccessful effort to amend the Minneapolis City Charter to include Instant
Run off Voting and Proportional Representation. More recently, he was part
of the Mayors Ethics Task Force which redrafted the City's Ethics Code and
established an independent Ethical Practices Board for Minneapolis. In
addition to his ongoing political activism, Cam currently runs a small
business in Minneapolis, edits a nationally distributed education newspaper
and serves as a Neighborhood Representative on the Minneapolis Neighborhood
Revitalization Program Policy Board.
