On the morning of the special election that elected current council-member Samuels, I went-out door knocking in the Northeast part of the 3rd Ward to "get-out-the-vote". The DFL Party (as one would assume), had been very thorough in leaving literature in the doors of all the homeowners on whose doors I knocked.
Did the thought cross my mind to remove the literature pieces for the opposing candidate. You bet. Did I? No. Why? Because I would not allow myself to presume that I knew what was best for the person that lived at the residence. In fact, I even handed the pieces to those residents that answered their door. It was THEIR choice, not mine, how they interpreted the mail that was left in their door.
