This desperation to make each successive election THE
CRUCIAL election, whether local or national, by the
Democrats might explain Kahn's unethical behavior.
Particularly since, as the local example of the NRP
illustrates, people are becoming less and less
inclined to buy the Democrats, and the DFL's locally,
greater evil hysteria in the light of the Democrat's
and the
DFL's successively greater evil. But in Kahn's mind I
can see how it might look.
The Republicans have been blown up to represent such
evil that they MUST be defeated. Although this
explanation touches on national as well as local
issues, it explains the local example of Kahn's
unethical behavior by putting it in this larger
context.

This episode seems to have been hi-jacked by those on
the competing Left and obvious Right as an opportunity
to take on the DFL.
1. Local candidates in 'safer' seats often work with
their caucus and do lit drops, doorknocks, phoning and
fundraising for other candidates in more competitive
districts. It's good politics to share your resources
to build up a caucus- or to streghthen one.
2. She got caught lifting lit- paid the price. It
shouldn't go any further. Our SoS is in the process of
overtly making it tougher for people to vote (which IS
a suppression on Democracy not just the vote), yet
Kahn is being asked to step down. Where are the cries
from you over Kiffmeyer?
I'm surprised at the Green supporters, but not the
Republicans on here who are calling for her to step
down.
Long time ago we use to have something called
elections used to get rid of elected officials who
were unsatisfactory, now those who can't build enough
support to win an election, are quick to turn to the
courts to interact with the election process.
Tying this act into some kind of orchestrated
corruption among DFL elected officials and supporters
is as ridiculous as tying in the anti-Semite remarks
by the endorse Green candidate for US Senate two years
ago to all of the Green supporters, or the views of
some of Senator Bachmans supporters to all
Republicans, or the views of Arlon Lindner to all
Republicans, or the views of former LA state senator
David Duke to all Republicans. Ridiculous.
What happen to the discussion that elected officials
are not above the law, and this proves it. Most
anywhere else in the country this would have been
thrown out, and most definitly not prosecuted with
all of the scrutiny. She mucked-up and was held
accountable.
