See what clearly? See the obvious wisdom and fairness of having council
members run in their new wards after redistricting?

To claim that requiring council members to run in their new wards
following redistricting is an "assault" on the Green Party or on Council
Member Samuels is simply nonsense. All council members would be
required to run in their new wards not just Green Party members and
Council Member Samuels.

It is grotesquely unfair to citizens to have council members elected
from one set of ward boundaries continuing to serve for two or more
years after those boundaries have been redrawn. The Legislature
recognized this years ago and requires senators to serve two year terms
in census years and then run again in the next election cycle in their
new districts.

I am absolutely confidant that this problem will be fixed by 2023 (the
next time this problem will occur unless we return council members to
two year terms)through either a state law, ordinance, or charter change.

FYI, I did not graduate from Harvard or Yale - my alma mater is Augsburg
College right here in Minneapolis! As great a bastion of clear thinking
as you will find anywhere!

The push for a new election by Rep. Kahn's bill in the State Legislature

that redirects the timing of our city's election IS an assault on the
Green Party or non-DFLers (eg. CM Samuels), albeit debatable whether or
not it is a direct or indirect assault. You don't have to go to Yale or

Harvard to see that clearly.
