John, The only information that I have been able to find is what was in the budget/business plan. The problem that I have with this is...the city has given the impression that insurance companies will pay for the care yet...the insurance companies have refused because there is no coding that the fire department can use. It was stated to my insurance company, people are paying for this out of their own pocket. Since my last post, I have found out that $400 is slight, some people have paid up to $800.00 out of pocket! The city council passed this budget without actually knowing what the policy would be and if it was workable. The concern was to make money for the MFD because their budget had been cut. This is understandable...but we live in an area that has one of the highest elderly population. A couple of sirens a day it seems like. Do these people, along with myself, need to pick up the lack of money that the city gave the MFD? There is another post that has stated the amount of taxes being given to developers...I realize these developers pay taxes..Ryan is 10th in the city at 2.9 million. Sounds like alot? Compare it to land ownership. My complaint is...my taxes should be going to fire, police, schools, libraries, transportation. I am happy to pay my taxes..but I am not happy to be subsidizing developers who are taking the tax dollar before the fire and police. Our leaders have done some real strange money deals. The retirement package for the police is not only for the police..I have been told it also includes secretaries and office workers! Do we own them five years of insurance (12,000.00 per year?) along with $15,000.00 to retire? If the city is in dire straights, stop the stupid spending such as the money being spent on slanted task forces. Get rid of some of the consultants, stop doing study after study until the one you want shows up, stop some of the building for image,....we would have money for our police and fire department without groveling. Where is the pride? Dorie Gallagher Nokomis...sorry John, I am ticked about the charge! The fire department guys were great by the way. They were very kind. > > > > _______________________________ > Do you Yahoo!? > Declare Yourself - Register online to vote today! > http://vote.yahoo.com REMINDERS: 1.
