Below is the text of the Minneapolis Star-Tribunes endorsement of Diane
Loeffler.

59A: Loeffler

DFLer Diane Loeffler has had a stellar career in public service, working in
the trenches for all levels of government. She was our pick in the Sept. 14
primary; we strongly endorse her in the Nov. 2 election.

Loeffler, 51, a lifelong northeast Minneapolis resident and health-policy
analyst for Hennepin County, knows her way around the Legislature. She's
headed a nonprofit agency, developed policy proposals for Minnesota cities,
prepared budgets for a state agency, expanded home care for seniors and much
more.

She has the energy and experience to work effectively on a host of issues.
She'll be a vigorous advocate for the troubled Minneapolis school system,
arguing that the state has an obligation to keep it healthy. She'll also be
a strong voice for human services as seen through the lens of the state's
largest city.

Two others are seeking the seat being vacated by retiring DFL Rep. Len
Biernat. Republican Valdis Rozentals, 37, is a contractor specializing in
historic home renovation and restoration. He's independent-minded and
public-spirited, but nave about legislative work.

Green Party candidate Tom Taylor, 49, a Northeast community activist, has
worked in the catering and restaurant industry, and as a visual artist and
graphic designer. He favors a universal health care system and holding
polluters more accountable. But neighborhood rather than state issues are
his long suit.
