I want to echo what Gina said about things going smoothly. I served as a Poll Challenger for the DFL in 10-7, Painter Park, and the judges there ran things wonderfully. Almost all of them were there all day, and they had a student judge as well. The head judge in particular really knew his stuff and ran things very well. Despite the long lines, the voters were patient and courteous. The folks from Sonny's Ice Cream/Crema Caf passed out coffee to the cold wet voters in line. My Republican colleagues (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) were quite pleasant and helpful.
The numbers in our precinct (I also live there) were tremendous. We started the day with 1980 registered voters. There were 439 same day registrants, over 20% of the prior total, an amazing number. So, a very smooth, enjoyable day as Poll Watcher with nothing to do, which was nice. A huge THANK YOU to the election judges there and everywhere. Jon Lewis Lyndale Jon Lewis 3109 Hennepin Ave. So.
