I am very interested in hearing more about this:
firstly because I live quite close to the building and
second because my husband and I initially had an
interest in participating in the global marketplace.
Ultimately we decided that the space was not a good
match for what we wanted to do, but it seems that we
had some different reasons than the folks you mention.

Can you elaborate a bit on the sentiments you have
heard, and who there coming from? For example, the
people who live in the community and think it won't
work - are they neighbors or business owners or both?
Why do they think it won't work? The local Latino
business owners you say are concerned - are they
concerned because it will bring competition, or
because it will lure neighbors into businesses that
will ultimately fail?

In other words, I can't figure out if the concern is
based upon competition or upon some idea that the
concept just won't make a go.

Thanks for starting the conversation,
