CB: Many of our neighborhoods have Gateways like the one Mark Wilde mentioned. These projects are completed with EXTENSIVE community involvement and one of my favorites is at the Harrison Gateway at Penn & Olson Highway because it incorporates tiles designed by people who live in that neighborhood. These Gateways are a result of the City's Art in Public Places program which recently added integrating public art into City capital projects to it's mission. See http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/dca/Artworks.pdf. for a complete list of public art located throughout our fair city. Also click on http://www.minneapolis-art.com/ for a list of works located in the downtown area. Get out there and see the amazing and astonishing art going on around you, my friends! Remember though that just because you don't like it or appreciate it, someone else probably does. As a matter of fact, everyone is invited to a dedication this Saturday, Nov 13th at 2:00 pm at Farview Park, 26th & Lyndale Av N. "Circle of Vision", the gateway to the Hawthorne neighborhood, is modeled after a tower once located in the park and incorporates periscopes to view the Downtown skyline! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Connie Beckers - Folwell "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one."
