The Minnesota Veterans Home I made a casual observation that apparently they were.
Although I could not help but notice that Governor Tim Pawlenty, Senator Norm Coleman, Senator Mark Dayton, and Commissioner Mark Stenglein were in attendance to pay homage to the veterans.
The decision was made not to search the grounds for Mayor Rybak as the assumption was he was spending his day off shouting at airplanes and hugging trees near the airport (kidding).
As a political hack, it stuns me that with the Minnesota power structure in place, in one location, in your home town, on a great day, a politico would not stop in to say Hi, Howdy, no matter how self serving. We wonder why we have such troubles with our funding sources. If not for Congressman Sabo's longevity, we would be dead in the water.
Irregardless of motive for attending the event, it was a great day to honor those who gave limb and/or faculties so the rest of us can waddle around life.
