I don't believe this year school board members were elected by party loyalty as much as a belief there needed to be a change in the system. All of them, except for Henry-Blyth believed in school closures. I think we need to go beyond the local school board members and look at what is happening with our school system from the top down. We have paid top dollar for top administrators to guide our education system...did they? We have federal mandate programs without money to pay for them...we have politicans who believe that the internet is a library...we have politicans who do not want to support inner city schools since they themselves live in the suburbs. ( Why bother educating smart little leechy dfl rug rats!) It is about money, it is always about money .... whether Ms Farmer wants to admit it or not. Should not education and the welfare of the child be at the forefront of this issue ...school closures are only a band-aid and not a solution...should not the educators be involved??! Should not the community be involved??! Compare it to insurance companies who decided a mother could go home in 24 hours after giving birth... to save a buck. No concern for mother or child...some pin-striped dud sitting in an cubicle or board room crunching figures with no regard.(It was changed after a death or two) Dorie Rae Gallagher Nokomis/wondering how many days the library in Bagdad is opened.... > > > > > REMINDERS: > 1.
