Minneapolis is gearing up for another snow season; as part of our preparation,
we are testing the Snow Emergency E-Alert system.
Minneapolis has a new service for people who subscribe to our automatic Snow
Emergency E-Alert system. If you have *text messaging capability on your cell
phone or PDA*, you can sign up to receive a short text message when the City
declares a Snow Emergency. As a current subscriber, if you wish to sign up for
this feature, go to your subscriber page

hit enter) and check the box "Short messages preferred." When a Snow Emergency
is declared, you will receive a message (140 characters or fewer) on your cell
phone or PDA. New subscribers will be given the option to sign up for short
messages upon initial registration.

has a host of useful information about parking during the snow season.
Translations are also available in Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Lao, Oromo and
Vietnamese languages.
