Minneapolis (AP) A Hennepin County prosecutor was
among five people arrested on suspicion of cocaine
possession, authorities said on Saturday.

The arrested prosecutor, Julius Nolen, handles mostly
child abuse and sex abuse cases. His wife, Laura
Nolen, is an attorney in the Minneapolis City
Attorney's office. The couple was arrested at a house
in south Minneapolis on Friday night, according to
Chief Deputy Hennepin County Attorney Pete Cahill.

Cahill said four people were arrested at the home, and
one in a traffic stop after leaving.

"We have suspended him and relieved him of his duties
while criminal proceedings go forward, if they do,"
Cahill said. "If these allegations are true, we
consider this a tremendous breach of public trust."

Laura Nolen has worked as an assistant city attorney
for more than 10 years. She works as a community
attorney in the second police precinct, and serves as
a liaison between the community and city attorney's
office, said deputy city attorney Dana Banwer. Banwer
said no action had been taken regarding the Laura
Nolen's employment status.

The arrests were made by the Scott County Sheriff's
Department. The couple was jailed in Scott County on
Saturday night. They have not been charged.
