Any coordination between the Ordway and the Hennepin Ave theaters would likely result in less shows, not more.
the numbers of shows will reflect the demand in the area for broadway plays and musicals, with or without the ordway group running theaters in both cities. This is just how it works.
Ideally, this is correct. However, if the Ordway intentionally limits, to a subset of the available Broadway shows, the number of shows it puts on at the Ordway and the Hennepin Ave theaters because it dislikes "schlock", then your statement is incorrect. By having a monopoly on Broadway- theaters in the Twin Cities, the self-appointed cultural arbiters could limit consumer choice. I find this as worthy of concern as the affect Clear Channel may have on the market.
the competition is for who gets what show not who can sell more shows.
Only if they attempt to get every show that is available. See my argument above.
