I do however remember Basim Sabri insisting that he was a member of the "CVI Development Team", making a real loud scene about it and sitting on the stage with PPL representatives. Sitting with Steve Walsh from Sabathani and Barb McCormick of PPL AS one of the "Development Team".

It's been my observation, and I think I heard him say it once years ago, that Sabri thinks neighborhood organizations should be done away with. I have days when I agree with him. Usually I take a nap until I feel better. It's also my observation that Sabri is always loud and dramatic in neighborhood meetings.

The person who really pushed CVI was Steve Walsh. He tried to shop it in Central neighborhood first and was not successful, in part because he went about it like a common, garden variety thug.

Regardless, the building is up and probably very close to finished. My understanding is that the intention was to have housing for chronic offenders recently out of prison. I have yet to understand how bunching ex-offenders together is going to be helpful to the ex-offenders or anyone else. Anyone have a clue?
