I have participated in many, many public processes for hiring public administrators. the most important issue is not politics. The most important issue is a reasonable discussion leading to a decision.

Ah, here we come to the crux of the matter. Where was this reasonable discussion leading to a decision in 2003? This important step was completely ignored and Mr. Gurban became the interim superintendent. That in turn has led to animosity on the board and a search where many qualified applicants probably didn't bother to apply assuming Gurban had the inside track. Hope to see you at the interviews on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, 5:00 pm at the headquarters building 2117 West River RD.
