For all those interested, there is a Hollywood Theater development meeting this eveing at 5pm. The meeting will be at the Audubon Park Building on 29th and Buchanan Street NE (between Central and Johnson Street.)

The neighborhood task force recently sent a letter recinding their confindance in the current develooper Awsumb & Associates. This is bound to be an interesting time. The redevelopment of the theater has been lagging for 15+ years and the neighborhood desperatly wants the venue to reopen. The 1935 theater designed by architects Liebenberg & Kaplan is considered a superb example of art moderne architecture and is eligible for the national register. It closed in 1988 and has been owned by the City of Minneapolis since 1992.
