Face the facts: The Feds are awash in red ink. The state is awash in red ink. Your City is awash in red ink. WHO SHOULD PAY FOR YOUR LAVISH SPENDING? That's the question.
......and you're not alone: http://www.csmonitor.com/2004/1203/p01s01-usec.html Vicky Heller That site was interesting ...I believe other areas of Minnesota have to be taxed more also to add to the pot...My mothers house in Bemidji...3 bedroom, attached garage, @10 acres..taxes of $345 a year. I realize there is a difference of services but that type of taxation is unbelievable. One 4 plex property in Mpls. takes just about 10 months of rent from one unit to pay for the $5,600.00 in taxation and it is valued less than the $300,000 home that is paying $1,500.00. I don't want more taxes ...period. I feel government is bloated, it is spending money on things it should not be involved in, certain areas of government has never had to control their spending until recently, there are too many programs with the taxpayer's dollar that seem to crop up as a new way to feed money into development and building...some smart person figured out once again how not to spend his money. We are subsidizing those that should not be, we are paying big bucks for salaries that are not the norm in the rest of the country...even though they try and tell us different. Compare Minneapolis to Palm Springs ..one of the very richest areas in Florida for a salary increase? Yah right! There are basic services, do them well with equality, tax accordingly and with equality, and get rid of all the excess garbage that we are paying for... Dorie Rae Gallagher/Nokomis REMINDERS: 1.
