I hope this means that there is hope for someone running in Ward 3 now that Don Samuels is in Ward 5.
Surprisingly, with my opponent Don Samuels choosing to stay put and run in the new 5th Ward I am left the only announced candidate in the 3rd.
I announced early to pressure Don to give more attention to Northsider's and Minneapolitan's real issues- too few good jobs and too much crime. Since then these same problems fester in our city and no one else has come forth to represent the 3rd Ward. I already have one job and was planning on retiring, but if my 3rd Ward neighbors wish me to serve them I'll be happy to put off retirement a few more years.
