When you have Michelle Bachmann and her ilk grinding last year's Legislative session to a complete halt and preventing a bonding bill from being passed because nobody wants to deal with her constitutional ban against gay marriage BS, that's the fault of the state Republican party leaders who fail to keep her in line. And then when you have public school funding frozen and have the audacity to claim that schools have been "held harmless" even though they still have increases in health care premiums and other costs that they cannot ignore as easily as the governor and state Legislature choose to ignore inflation, that's the Republicans' fault. So maybe part of the reason it's a curse to be a Republican in this city is because the leaders of the state Republican party invite it? Is it possible that we see what they're doing just across the river and think to ourselves "why would we want to deal that here?" when Republicans run for office in Minneapolis?
