Dyna, your argument seems to be that because you suspect that justice hasn't
been done in various other cases, that Omar should be let free because he
only broke the law that one time. Is that what you are really arguing for?
I think that your "solution" is adding even more politics to a process
already way over-politicized. Maybe the jury should judge Omar based on the
law and Omar's possible offenses against that law.
Actually, I think this country's immigration law is far too draconian, and
the Immigration Department is often very unfair to non-citizens. And it's
gotten a lot worse since 9/11. But arguing against upholding the laws will
make the justice system worse, not better.
